LIKES: Motorbike - Yamaha PW80, motocross, cycling, XBox 360, swimming, learning his way around his new laptop provided by Starlight Foundation. He is also very inventive and wants to be a designer when he's older.
Diagnosed with CF: 14th March 2000
Due to mother’s insistence on further investigations into continual infections : ear, throat, chest. Horrendous cough making him turn blue. No end to the cough no matter how many antibiotics were given. Had prolapsed bowel which was never connected to CF. Failure to gain a significant amount of weight. Salty skin. Initially Consultant thought asthma, then whooping cough. After chest x-ray the Radiographer suggested testing for Cystic Fibrosis. After 2 positive sweat tests - Cystic Fibrosis was diagnosed.
Current Treatment: Omeprazole, PEP physio twice a day, inhaled Ventolin twice a day, Ineb nebulised Promixin twice a day. Admitted to Hospital every 4 months for IV treatment.

NAME: Joseph Francis Barnes

LIKES: Superheros - Batman, Spiderman, Superman, The Hulk and Iron Man. Very creative and loves drawing, colouring and making things and dressing up. Swimming - currently taking lesson's and just gained his first badge.
Diagnosed with CF: 30th May 2003
Was diagnosed early due to family history after blood test taken from various places (full of holes!) at 2 days old. Diagnosis came 2 days later.
Current Treatment: physio twice a day with an Accapella device and takes Azithromycin 3 times a week. Vitamin E, Dalivit, Creon, Nebulized Promixin twice a day, physio twice a day, plenty of physical activity, Ciprofloxacin antibiotic twice a day.
